The Holy Quran is the 4th and final holy book of Allah. Allah (SWT) took responsibility for its safety by His own self. In Quran, there are so many instructions and guidelines that will help in our daily life. It is the sole book in the entire world that rewards its reader with blessings from Allah Almighty. Other than the reward on the general text of the Quran, some special Surahs hold amends exception as compared to others. Surah Yaseen is one of the admired Surahs of Holy Quran. Importance of Surah Yaseen
Surah Yaseen is the 36th chapter of Holy Quran consists of 83 verses in total. It includes in Makki Surah because it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in Makkah. The exact meaning of word “Yaseen” is just known by Allah alone. The comprehensive theme of this incredible Lesson revolves around general attention on the Divine Nature of the “Dhikr”; warning for those who refuse and don’t make belief in Almighty; Glorification of Allah; His Command over everything and return of all to Him.
Benefits of Surah Yaseen
Surah Yaseen has a tremendous amount of rewards and benefits for its readers as discussed by Allah’s Apostle Muhammad (SAW) in his sayings which are given below:
- Yaseen- The heart of Quran: As we all know the heart is the most important organ of our body the whole functioning depends on heart if it stops then a person could die. In the same way, Surah Yaseen is the heart of Quran and its reading and understanding are necessary for every Muslim. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
“Surely everything has a heart, and the heart of the Quran is Yaseen. I would love that it be in the heart of every person of my people.” (Tafsir-al- Sabuni Vol.2)
From above Hadith, we can conclude that we should recite and memorize Surah Yaseen if we have to take blessings from Allah Almighty.
- Excellent reward: If you will read a single word of Holy Quran you will earn 10 blessings of Allah. While reading Surah Yaseen a person will get the reward of reading 10 times Quran. As Allah’s Messenger Muhammad (SAW) said:
“Whoever reads Surah Yaseen, Allah rewards him that is equal to that of reading the whole Quran.” (Tirmidhi 2812-A)
This gives all the more reasons for a believer to memorize Surah Yaseen so it can be analyzed many times in a day to obtain grand rewards, the value of which is beyond human awareness.
- Forgiveness from Sins: Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
“Whoever recited Surah Yaseen at the night seeking Allah’s approval, Allah would forgive him.” (Ibn Hibban, Darimi 3283-A)
If you want to seek forgiveness for your sins from Allah Almighty read Surah Yaseen daily Allah will surely forgive your sins.
- Recite for one who is dying: As we all know listening to Surah Yaseen greatly benefits one with forgiveness of its sins; therefore it has also been advised by the Holy Prophet (SAW) to recite Surah Yaseen in front of those who are dying so that it may help in their absolution of sins:
From above Hadith, we can conclude that Surah Yaseen is recommended to be recited for those who are dying. As, the last moments before death are very strict and hard to bear, thus, the Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has greatly prescribed for other Muslims to read this Sacred Chapter loud out for the decreasing ones so as to comfort their souls.
