The Diary of ‘You’ & Four Billion Year Diary COMBO

The Diary of ‘You’

Author: Reg Morrison

Founded on the best current evidence from the fluid frontiers of evolutionary biology the narrative outlined in this new science resource will take the reader on an evolutionary journey that is breathtaking in its scope and significance. This overview became possible when sophisticated techniques of molecular analysis finally enabled scientists to peer inside cell membranes and compare their structures and the sequences of ‘code letters’ that make up the genetic material housed within each cell. Here are the nucleotides, the cell structures and the chemical pathways that now help to define ‘ You’. Presented in diary form via 12 ‘monthly’ chapters, the narrative outlined in this book retraces the astonishing journey under taken by these definitive features from their evolutionary birth to their current home inside the creature that looks back at you from the bathroom mirror each morning.

Four Billion Year Diary

Author: Reg Morrison

Reg Morrison has been photographing and writing about Australia, its people, plants and animals, for almost four decades, and in 1986 he was appointed an Associate of the Australian Museum in recognition of his work. During that period he authored three books on Australia, and one on the evolutionary origins of humanity’s massive impact on the global environment.

In this FANTASTIC book the life of our planet has been told in 12 calander months. Australia is the time capsule of planet Earth. The evolutionary story embedded in the continent’s rocks, in its fossil record, and in the genes of its modern plants and animals encompasses 95% of our planet’s lifetime.
